Former Liverpool Star Lovren Close To Leaving Lyon

Former Liverpool star Lovren close to leaving Lyon

Lovren's Lyon exit on the horizon

Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is reportedly close to leaving Lyon after just two seasons with the French club. The Croatian international joined Lyon in 2020 on a free transfer from Liverpool, but he has struggled to make a significant impact at the Groupama Stadium.

Lovren has made just 16 appearances in all competitions for Lyon this season, and he has failed to establish himself as a regular starter under manager Peter Bosz. The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from Lyon in recent months, and it now appears that his exit is imminent.

Several clubs interested in Lovren

According to reports, several clubs are interested in signing Lovren, including Aston Villa, Sevilla, and Fenerbahce. Lovren is a vastly experienced defender who has played at the highest level for club and country, and he could be a valuable addition to any of these clubs.

Lovren's departure from Lyon would mark the end of a disappointing spell for the Croatian at the French club. He was expected to be a key player for Lyon after joining on a free transfer from Liverpool, but he has failed to live up to expectations.

Lovren's exit would also leave Lyon with a shortage of experienced defenders. The French club has already lost Jason Denayer to Al Shabab this summer, and they could now be without Lovren as well.

It remains to be seen where Lovren will end up next, but it is clear that his time at Lyon is coming to an end.
