Barcelona vs PSG: A Wild First Leg Ends with an Epic Comeback
Barcelona's youth shined under the lights of Paris as they secured a dramatic 4-1 victory over PSG in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie.
After falling behind to a Kylian Mbappe goal in the first half, Barcelona roared back with goals from Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, and Philippe Coutinho. Sergi Roberto added a fourth in the dying minutes to give Barcelona a commanding lead heading into the second leg.
The match was played at a frantic pace from the start, with both teams creating chances. PSG took the lead in the 31st minute when Mbappe latched onto a through ball and slotted it past Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Barcelona responded well to going behind, and they were level just six minutes later when Messi curled a free kick into the top corner. Dembele then gave Barcelona the lead in the 50th minute with a stunning solo effort, before Coutinho made it 3-1 in the 61st minute with a header from a corner.
PSG were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when Marco Verratti was sent off for a second yellow card. Barcelona took advantage of their numerical advantage and added a fourth goal through Roberto in the 90th minute.
The win gives Barcelona a great chance of reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2015. The second leg will be played at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, April 16.
